What we collect

Your name and email when you create an account or join the waitlist. The fitness and nutrition data you log: workouts, sets, cardio, meals, macros, body stats, and goals. Your chat messages with the trackers. Photos you attach to a workout and your profile avatar. Voice recordings you make to log by talking. These are sent to a speech to text provider to transcribe into text and are not retained by us after transcription. Optional profile details like your bio. If you use Stampede Mode, your precise location (GPS) while a workout you started is running: we use it to measure your distance and draw your route, and the route is saved to that workout on your account. Your precise location is never collected outside an active workout session, and it is never used for advertising or tracking. If you connect Apple Health, the health metrics you authorize (like heart rate, sleep, and steps) sync to your account to power your coach. When you visit our website, we and Meta may also collect your IP address, browser details, and cookie identifiers. When you use our iOS app, Meta may also collect your IP address, device details, and a random app identifier. Both are explained under Analytics and advertising.

How we use it

To run the product: log your training and nutrition, compute your totals and streaks, power your dashboards, and let the trackers answer questions about your own history. Chat messages are processed by AI model providers through an AI gateway to generate responses. Your data is never used to train models, and we never sell it to anyone.

Who can see your data

Nutrition data is always private to you and your coach. Workouts are visible only to followers you accept, or publicly if you set your profile public. Your trackers can only access your own data, and this is enforced at the database layer. Your coach can view your logged data and tracker conversations to coach you.

Payments

Elefint Pro subscriptions are processed by Apple (in-app purchase) via RevenueCat, our subscription management provider, and by Stripe for any web billing. We receive your subscription status and billing identifiers to unlock the trackers; we never see or store your full card details. Purchases and free trials made through Apple in the iOS app, including a subscription you already have, are also reported to Meta to measure our ads, as explained under Analytics and advertising.

Where it lives

Data is stored with Supabase (Postgres) and the app is hosted on Vercel. Both encrypt data in transit and at rest. Our service providers (Supabase, Vercel, RevenueCat, Stripe, and our AI providers) only use your data to run Elefint for us and protect it at least as well as this policy does. Meta handles the ad measurement events described below under its own privacy policy.

Deleting your account

We keep your data for as long as your account exists and delete it when you delete your account. You can permanently delete your account and every piece of your data that we store at any time from the Me tab inside the app. Deletion is immediate and irreversible, and removes your logged data, chats, and any photos you uploaded. Ad measurement events Meta has already received are held by Meta under its own terms and are not deleted with your account.

Analytics & advertising

Our website uses the Meta Pixel and Meta's Conversions API to measure how our ads on Facebook and Instagram perform and to show them to people who may be interested. On a few public pages of our website (the home page, Love, Events, and Download), these tools record that a page was viewed and when you tap a Download on the App Store button. When you create an account on our website, we tell Meta that a signup happened. With these events Meta receives your IP address, browser details, the page address, and identifiers stored in cookies that Meta sets in your browser, plus a scrambled (hashed) account number for a website signup. We never send your email address or password.

Our iOS app uses Meta's software development kit (SDK) to measure how our ads on Facebook and Instagram perform. Meta says it uses information it receives from our app and other apps to provide measurement services and to target and deliver ads. Our app does not ask for permission to track you, so the SDK tells Meta on every event that tracking is not allowed, and Meta may limit how it uses these events. The SDK tells Meta when the app is installed and opened and how long it is used; when you start, complete, cancel, or restore an Apple purchase or free trial, with the plan, its price, Apple's transaction details, and, for some purchases, your App Store receipt; the first time it runs on your phone, any Apple subscription you already have; and, once, when you finish setting up a new account in the app. With these events Meta receives your IP address, device details (like your phone model, iOS version, language, time zone, and carrier), and a random identifier that Meta's SDK creates for the app on your phone. Meta may estimate your general area from your IP address. If the app crashes inside Meta's code, the SDK may also send Meta a report of that crash. The app never reads your phone's advertising identifier, and it never sends Meta your name, email address, or password.

We never send Meta your workouts, meals, body stats, Apple Health data, precise location, photos, or chats, from our website or our app. Apart from the app events above, nothing you do inside the app is shared with Meta or with any other company for advertising.

Your choices: if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a request to opt out, and the website tools do not run in that browser. You can also opt out in this browser with the button below, or in your Facebook and Instagram ad preferences, and you can email us at the address at the bottom of this page for help. Inside our app, the button below turns off Meta's ad measurement in the app on that phone. The switch works per phone, so turn it off on each phone where you use the app. You can also control what Meta does with activity from apps and websites like ours in Meta's Accounts Center, under Your activity off Meta technologies. We turn these tools off for people we detect in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, and the states of Washington, Nevada, and Connecticut: the website tools by your location, and the app by your location, App Store country, phone region, or time zone. If the age on your account is under 16, the app turns Meta's ad measurement off on each phone once you sign in there, and you can turn it back on with the button below.

Your California privacy rights (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request a copy of it, to request its deletion, and to correct inaccuracies. We do not sell your personal information. The ad measurement described above, on our website and in our app, may count as sharing for cross context behavioral advertising under California law, because Meta may also use what it receives for its own advertising, and you can opt out of it. To exercise any of these rights, including Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information, use the opt out button above in your browser or inside our app, turn on Global Privacy Control in your browser, or email us at the address below. We will not discriminate against you for doing so.

Children

Elefint is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
